Overview
This poster is inspired by Spanish Leather, the album by Guitarricadelafuente. The visual piece seeks to reflect the emotional journey present throughout the album—from moments of strength and euphoria to melancholy, transition, and vulnerability.
The work aims to visually capture not only the physical themes present in the music, but also the emotional undressing suggested in the lyrics and sound. It is an interpretation of the album’s expressive landscape, translated into a single, cohesive image.
Approach
The design process focused on exploring the emotional layers of the album through a combination of image texturization techniques, expressive lettering, and vector illustration.
Using Adobe Illustrator, the poster was developed entirely in a digital environment, with particular attention to the interplay between form, texture, and typography. The use of textures helped convey depth and rawness, while the hand-drawn lettering echoed the personal and intimate tone of the music.
The composition was guided by the progression of the album itself, attempting to mirror its shifts in mood and atmosphere through visual rhythm, balance, and contrast.
